COMMUNITY DAYS EVENT FEATURES A MINING LOCOMOTIVE

08/28/12

August 25th – The Brookville Volunteer Fire Company hosted its annual Brookville Community Days on August 22-25. This four day event was packed with activities that encouraged community involvement. To wrap up the festivities on the final day, the Fireman’s Grande Parade was organized to honor and salute our local service members, veterans, and their families.

To support the community we call home, Brookville Equipment participated in the parade. A team of 14 employees joined the parade to roll down Main Street in a mining personnel carrier. This event provided a great opportunity for Brookville Equipment to show the community an upclose look at the equipment it is dedicated to manufacturing.

Brookville Equipment’s featured unit is a 15-ton, 20-man personnel carrier designed to be operated in a West Virginia Coal Mine. Powered by a 174HP Mercedes diesel engine, this vehicle will operate in 4-wheel drive on a 14% grade. At 29 ft long and 10 ft wide, the tractor uses both coordinated and crab steering to maneuver within the tight confines of the coal mine
